ok so after reading the book i can safely say that the decision to cast tom hanks as the dad ruined the entire film!!

on a more picky note… there was so much potential with this because the book is insanely good. so much left out (as it obviously has to be - you can’t include everything), especially the dual narratives and changes in perspective. to focus solely on oscar is the biggest disappointment of the film.
