my boyfriend gave me an hour long synopsis of the original series on the drive to the theaters. plot sounded simple and familiar (I do love a good time travel story). as someone who watched without the nostalgic memories of the tvb show, it was still pretty entertaining and michael miu is a sexy man. the last third act went off the rails a bit and the alternative ending was unnecessary, but of course I still teared up.
