"arthur, don't go chasing shadows."
this definitely didn't deserve a rating so low such as 2.9.
even though I was shitting myself with jumpscares mainly because of the absurdly loud sounds, I do think they were clever. scenes were I was definitely NOT expecting to get scared had me skipping a beat for a moment.
also, the vibes are amazing. personally, I don't watch as many gothic movies as I feel like I should, so watching daniel radcliffe walking around in a victorian suit under that dim, pale and grim lightning was truly an experience I've never thought I needed to go through.

I can’t rate this objectively, watched it when it came out so I was 8 or 9, scared the shit out of me. I perceive it as a top tier horror.
