The Perfume of the Lady in Black
Danke.
Ausbeutung? Wahn? Publikum? Voyeurismus? System? Ritual?
Sind wir Schuld? Sind wir die Sekte?
Am Ende braucht es keinen Spiegel mehr.

"I wish you wouldn't get so upset, over something so unimportant."

"I want to stop this game."
"You can't stop now. It's not a game."
Danke.

The Perfume of the Lady in Black
scratches head in confusion

Before i start off, I just want to say that this isn't a giallo film. Not all italian horror films are gialli. This is more a psychological thriller.

I thought this was a giallo film which was why I put it on in the first place, because that's what i was in the mood for. What the film actually was just bored me.

The whole surreal, dream-like whatever just wasn't for me at all, especially since the main character is just so paper thin. I couldn't even concentrate for most of the film. The film definitely tries its best and it will be to some people's taste but I'm not some people.

The style of the film is good though with the flowery atmosphere.

I also really liked the ending cos it was so shocking. I wish the rest of the film was like that.

I don't even have much to say about the film and I don't want the review to drag (like it did) so I'll just leave it here.

The Perfume of the Lady in Black
Everyone keeps telling Silvia she’s working too much, and she responds by dropping her job altogether and doing crazy stuff around the city. Iconic, if you ask me.

The Perfume of the Lady in Black is like the Giallo version of Repulsion. I watched this movie thinking it was an adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s novel of the same name, which it isn’t, but it has good moments and I liked them for what they were.
