Alison Brie and Matthew Gray Gubler….. put me in that room, lemme watch. This scene is lowkey real asf, I know a home girl or 2 who probably had a dream like this.
This movie gave me the roughest tonal and emotional whiplash I’ve felt in a minute. I really thought it was gonna be a horse girl whitewomanmaxxing her way through a comedrama and then figured it was gonna be a socially awkward woman adjusting to life and coming out of her shell. and then I was hit with gut punches that left me with indescribable entry and exit wounds. This movie is depressing with hints of Perfect Blue and Bugonia. Alison Brie delivers the performance of her life and as a longtime fan I loved seeing it, and with this being her debut screenplay I’m pleading for more. A film that descriptions can’t do proper justice, it’s something you gotta watch and feel for yourself. Hard watch but great watch. Can’t wait to see it again towards the end of the year.
