I gave this movie half star more because I really love watching Olivia de Havilland so happy and carefree and acting silly. I can’t believe she was only 21 when she filmed this. But I have to say that the romance doesn’t really work in the story at all. I always enjoy watching Rosalind Russell, she always manages to do her best with everything she’s handed, doesn’t matter if it isn’t very good. But here she doesn’t have chemistry with Errol Flynn at all. And the way he falls in love with her doesn’t make sense either. He always acted indifferent, maybe friendly with her, and then suddenly he’s in love. Errol and Olivia had way more chemistry. But I have to say this movie did manage to make me smile a few times and it’s always a joy seeing Walter Connolly, specially if he’s playing with those miniature trains.
