A movie that has a good premise and motivation but it came out a little bit lame

When this came out in 2020 and my mom told me to watch it I just rolled my eyes because I know it’s going to be the same social media is bad blah blah addiction blah blah data privacy blah blah depression blah blah. And I’m glad I’m watching this now because now that I’m witnessing how AI is changing the world at a large scale it’s even more terrifying that we’re still in the very same system that is set to destroy ourselves. This is terrifying and most of us don’t realize it. Our leaders and the decisions they make are terrifying and even I don’t know if they actually how catastrophic things are going to be. The reason why it’s so easy to ignore is because it’s already happening fast enough that the change is alarming but slow enough to go about and ignore it until it’s too late. Things managed to get a lot worse in just five years and I’m not even just talking about AI slop. I’m talking about wars, shortages on our resources, the division of humanity, unreliable authority figures, enshittifications of products, and the compelling uncertainty. The reason why the very engineers who pioneered today’s technology are terrified is because they don’t even know what makes it terrifying, they just know it is.
