Always a joy to watch a film led by someone who gave us such a great character in Fear the Walking Dead.

Michael Greyeyes was one of the pillars of FTWD Season 3, easily one of the greatest seasons in television history.

Not a fan of the first act, took a while for me to connect.

I love the reversal: the mean-looking ex-con is actually the good guy, while the ordinary, clean-cut family man turns out to be a truly horrible human being. A perfect example of yin and yang, and the duality of appearances.

Gorgeous cinematography paired with an excellent soundtrack elevates the entire experience.

I only wish Graham Greene had been part of the cast.

I’ve always wanted to see more thrillers centered on Native American stories. Thunderheart is definitely next on my list.

Wild Indian is a story of abusive relationships, paying for past sins and trajectories in life that crosses at different stages. Unfortunately none of that is really well nurtured or handled, and I kept wondering which direction they were really going with this. To some extent I still did when the credits rolled. The characters decisions felt eclectic and I struggled to see what message they’re trying to get across. Still there’s some good bits in there, some solid acting and a couple heartfelt moment.

I think this should totally be at least nominated for the 2022 awards season, or recognised in some way. Please watch this when it becomes available.
