Jane Froman, an aspiring songstress, lands a job in radio with help from pianist Don Ross, whom she later marries. With a Song in My Heart
Golden Globe for Best Comedy or Musical 2/73

This movie won over Singin’ in the Rain which, like, lmao. Grew on me as it went on. There’s about 30 minutes of a compelling (if schmaltzy) movie in there, but the rest of the 90 minutes are just static performances of Susan Hayward lip syncing standards while in oversized dresses. But if Thelma Ritter isn’t my nurse after I get into some horrific plane crash, you might as well pull the plug.
