seeing as this was a true story,  this was disrespectful. the sex scenes were so unnecessary especially bc she was only 15, and the parents’ scene it was just like .. what was the point of that..

Part of this feels like a poorly though out true-crime tv movie while the other part tries to trick you into thinking this is a good movie through the camerawork and editing (which are genuinely interesting). This is also one of those times that it being based on a real case makes me feel weird considering it plays as a sympathetic dark psychological drama from the perpetrator’s perspective, which feels like an insensitive decision. It’s not the worst I’ve seen in this genre but I just don’t like the genre of dramatized reenactments of real violence
