Saw 4 is a decent entry for the hardcore fans but this is definitely where the franchise timeline starts getting incredibly confusing It is pretty cool how the movie takes place at the exact same time as Saw 3 and getting to see more of Jigsaws backstory and how he became a killer adds some nice depth to the lore The traps are still super brutal and creative especially the hair pulling trap and the ice block showdown at the end The major problem is that the pacing feels way too rushed and the twist ending relies on so much complicated timeline trickery that it might make your head hurt It is still an entertaining gory thriller but it lacks that simple cleverness of the original films.

So wait are there two John Kramers? Because the one in the morgue at the beginning and the one in the freezer at the end can’t be the same one. If the morgue takes place before the freezer then the one in the freezer would have his brain and all his organs removed and his face meat would be slipping off, but if the freezer takes place before the morgue, that would mean that Hoffman went back to retrieve the body after he locked Strahm in there with it, but Strahm has a gun so he could definitely escape Hoffman and either kill him or out him as Jigsaw’s successor, which is not the case in the morgue scene. The only explanation is that Jigsaw cloned himself.

i really like this one. Obviously it’s not as good as the first 3. Those are my babies. but i love how it dives into John Kramers history & why he created the Jigsaw persona & started doing the traps. He’s just a sweet old man, I’ll defend him til i die. Especially for killing the rapist & personally i think he deserved a wayy more brutal trap than what he got!! The gore is so good in this one also but ouch, the hair trap makes me feel sickk & i love the autopsy scene in the beginning🩸🧩🖤
