Amsterdam has been on my watchlist since it was first released, but I kept putting it off because of all the bad reviews. And I think there's something wrong with me because I had fun watching it. Is it the best film ever? Absolutely not. But it's quirky and carried by Christian Bale and John David Washington; not to mention the gorgeous cinematography and soundtrack. The plot is admittedly muddled, and I think some of the celebrity cameos could've been substituted with better writing, but all in all it's pretty decent.
