this movie made me indescribably sad

At first I thought I wouldn’t like the animation style but it actually grew on me, the animations were well done and it had some cool transitions.
The music was great as well, I loved the guitar heavy stuff.
Underneath the grotesque imagery there was a sad, emotional film with a lot to say and a lot I didn’t get on my first watch.
Not a film for everyone but great either way.

An impeccably animated film that's so marvellous drawn its impossible to not see as a major achievement. Sadly, the narrative its all wrapped up in is incredibly complex and abstract, its very difficult to wrap my head around things and become emotionally invested, thus leaving me disinterested and unchanged by the experience.

Im sure the knowing the context behind it all takes it to new heights, but as I stand without, the film has very little to give me. I don't think it's a bad thing to don't immediately understand everything especially when it comes to something so abstract. But when it comes to developing a personal opinion, it certainly helps a tonne.
