A young Venezuelan idealist flees his native land to escape a revolution. Hoping to find peace, he goes to the mountains and the forests of the Amazon. There he encounters Rima, the Bird Girl, an orphan living a life of nature, who is feared by a local jungle tribe.

It’s insanely rare for me to take long breaks between a single watch of a film, but I started Green Mansions over a month ago and was so bored, that not only did I stop it, I completely forgot it had even existed until I was looking for a new Hepburn film to watch. I finally started it back up and finished it today and it was just as boring as I remembered. Curse you Mel Ferrer for having Audrey Hepburn co-star in such a bland film. Also gotta feel bad for Anthony Perkins as well.

“It blooms for the space of a moon and then disappears. Yet it never dies. That very moment it blooms again at another place... If you look in this place tomorrow and it is gone, you must not be sad, because you know it still exists, not very far away.”
A bad movie in general but I love Audrey Hepburn so much, I truly enjoyed the chemistry between Perkins and Hepburn. And she had the cutest little pet deer.
