As a kid, this would have slapped but my mom was one of the types that thought Harry Potter was evil so I never go to watch it and build any sort of nostalgia towards it. It’s a good movie though, a bit on the slow side for the majority of it and the last battle scene was not anything special, the snake was cool but overall really kind of useless. They built him up the whole movie and he was slain pretty easily. These movies are so well done when it comes to the charm of storytelling and world building. That’s why they are so popular. I also really liked how this one had a much darker tone. 10 points deducted for the flying car of bullshit showing up during the spider scene. It was basically the eagles from Lord of the Rings and definitely irked me a bit. It’s solid, probably will rewatch.

If this is the worst in the franchise I have high hopes for the rest.
Ron’s facial expressions literally had me in tears.

definitely the worst movie in the franchise (i haven’t seen the last two so im willing to be proven wrong, but hopefully not!)

the moves get much better when they get shorter, IMO — this did not need to be almost three hours

that being said, love the movies when they are young and the bad stuff that is happening isn’t horrible, like later on
