I watched this just because of the poster and it didn't disappoint, it was as crazy as you'd expect it to be. Although, I found the talk about rape and incest kinda uncomfortable especially because it was said towards a thirteen year old girl. That really grossed me out. Minus that the film was pretty good, loved the scene where the dad was running home.

Still one of the funniest, most incisive, most revolutionary Japanese movies ever made. Two things I learned from Tom Mes’ commentary on the Third Window blu-ray:

- The two stop motion sequences (opening credits and the end of the film) were shot by the great Takeshi Ito. Which feels obvious in retrospect but I never realised-  Sogo Ishii was planning to do a cyberpunk film in Kowloon City, but he never got financing for it. Truly one of the saddest losses in film history.
