a lot of mixed feelings about this one. it's always interesting to see western perspectives on colonial india (i say through gritted teeth and clenched fists)
although i'd like to think this was made in good faith i.e. criticism of hippie-culture, blatant in-your-face orientalism (v doubtful lol), i fear this may have still done irreparable damage to how people view india (was fully prepared for snake charmers and elephants to make an appearance) a bit too colonial-gaze-y for my liking.
can't help but mourn the india that could've been.
