a very gritty and impactful film, i don’t know if i can call it a hidden gem. if i say it’s a hidden gem, that’d be me indirectly recommending it, and i’d feel very bad if anyone watched this because of me. at the same time, it’s very well made. a sadistic game of cat and mouse, played by a sick serial killer who participates in grotesque desires, and a closeted, young, and bright detective chasing him down. i was thrilled by the story and their back and forth. that one scene where jack has the gun in ramon’s mouth?? that shot goes so hard as well as so many others i’m a fan of the cinemetography!! to any of my friends that may read this, this is absolutely NOT for the faint of heart. there’s tons of blood, sexual assault, pedophilia, straight up gore around the end, the whole shebang. no wonder this went under the radar for most of the population!! i was hooked into this twisted tale for the whole span of 105 minutes, with great performances and an intense story, which is why i’m giving the rating im giving it.
