i really wanted to like this more, but unfortunately this was mid for me.
some really good dialogue, but also some really drawn out dialogue that’s just not interesting. a monologue here and there is great, but there were too many and I found myself struggling to pay attention.
plot wise, the most entertaining parts are in the first two parts. the third part was so uninteresting for me. the whole car cleaning plot was so long, and i was just waiting for it to go somewhere, and it didn’t. when you have such exciting scenes in the film in the middle, you really ought to make the ending top it somehow.
i respect the artistic choice to split up the film in this way. it’s clearly a cult classic, so i’m sure i’m missing something, but i didn’t think it did much for the story.
i think there is some subtext in what Samuel L Jackson is saying and why he chooses to not kill the robber, but i’m struggling to make sense of it. would love to read a review of someone who loved this film
