see this is what i don’t understand, you go through all the trouble of making a giant mechanical worm with multiple puperteers controlling it so it looks as lifelike as possible, and it looks amazing (as amazing as a giant worm can look like), just to replace it with a CG version???
jj abrams spend so much energy on things that seem so insignificant to the overall story of the movie, like the desert celebration scene, instead of focusing on writing a better script.
the john williams cameo??? the keeper of the scores himself omg and the poor guy was talked into it by his wife lmao
this making-of could’ve benefited from more of adam driver like hearing his thought process behind his portrayal of kylo ren/ben solo is really fascinating
"he has to let her know that they’re together but i don’t know that he entirely is sure what’s going to happen from there nor do i think he cares. i think it‘s so long as he‘s with her he‘s on the right path." MY HEART
i think this one quote from jj abrams perfectly sums up the problems with the rise of skywalker:
"the idea of having humans and human sized creatures ground invading a star destroyer was too much fun an idea not to try"just because it‘s a fun idea doesn’t mean you should do it.
"you know the end of this saga has to feel surprising but also inevitable that when you look through it again you think of course that‘s how it had to end of course that‘s where these characters had to go of course that‘s how we had to leave this galaxy"i don’t think ANYBODY thinks 'of course that‘s how it had to end' after watching the original trilogy but sure go ahead and tell yourself that lmao
