"You don't know what kind of Hell you have to face"
I've never played a Silent Hill game, and since I heard a lot that the movie was bad for not being like the game, I thought that since I hadn't played it, I might like the movie. I was hell wrong.
I really tried to ignore that it was a video game adaptation, but it's impossible. The film is shot in such a way that it all looks like a cutscene, and honestly, I found that unbearable. Great locations wasted because of the awful cinematography.
The story also depends on having played the game. Without knowing the story, it's very difficult to understand everything, I'd say impossible. So if people who played the games say it doesn't respect them, and the movie doesn't work regardless, they really fucked everything up.
I'm not giving it less stars because I didn't find it completely boring. It has some redeeming moments.
