Happy Pride month everyone!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I'm starting the month off with Cowboys, which has been in my watchlist for a really long time. Steve Zahn is an actor I really like, and I think he's severely underrated because every role of his I've seen so far he's absolutely knocked out of the park. This film was no exception, and his performance along with Sasha Knight's was amazing. I'm a huge fan of non-linear storytelling, and it's done really well here, in my opinion. However, one issue I had was with the pacing; the ending felt a bit rushed to me, and I wouldn't have minded a longer run-time in lieu of a slower ending. With that being said, though, this was still a fantastic film, and I'd highly recommend giving it a watch.

The entire sequence after Joe opens the bathroom door and appears with his hair cut is so emotionally captivating. Sally and Troy staring, Joe lashing out screaming that he hates his mom, Sally slapping him and then immediately covering her mouth in shock as to what shes done. Followed by the internal debate in the car by Troy whether to take Joe or not with both Joe and Sally yelling and pleading the different options. That is an amazinv sequence and really made me focus on the film moreso than I had already. You can tell so much about each character, their motivation, depth and how 3-dimensional they are just through this 3 or so minute sequence alone and I think it's so amazing.
