Cool government operative James Bond searches for a stolen invention that can turn the sun's heat into a destructive weapon. He soon crosses paths with the menacing Francisco Scaramanga, a hitman so skilled he has a seven-figure working fee. Bond then joins forces with the swimsuit-clad Mary Goodnight, and together they track Scaramanga to a Thai tropical isle hideout where the killer-for-hire lures the slick spy into a deadly maze for a final duel.

Wasted chance at a Christopher Lee Bond performance.
God this movie is tired. Whatever I liked about Roger Moore in Live and Let Die is gone here, where he just feels like a figure head here. Where most Bond films feel like they have a memorable sequence or two, this one has no scene that pops out in particular and is mostly just a slog.
Once again, Christopher Lee is the star. Not only does he out-act everyone, he’s captivating and genuinely scary. I wish they gave him more to work with.
My least favorite Bond so far on this rewatch through the series.

Una delle migliori trame dei film di 007 rovinata dal personaggio di goodnight, attrice bellissima ma personaggio scritto in maniera oscena, non si rende conto di star volando né dal leggero rumore di un motore da jet né dalla pressione mentre prende quota tant'è che decide bene di aprire il cofano e poi nel finale non si rende conto di aver toccato mentre è in bikini in un isola tropicale una leva in metallo freddo e infatti poi non riesce a disattivarla anzi senza le indicazioni di Bond non si sarebbe neanche resa conto della presenza di una console. Tra l'altro negli altri film della saga sono presenti donne molto scaltre che muoiono per i motivi più stupidi mentre goodnight dimostra più volte la sua sbadatezza ma in qualche modo la scampa sempre, se fosse morta nel finale avrei dato mezza stella in più
