very predictable-ish. not the smartest mystery alive but it had vibes tho and sometimes vibes are enough. using lana's song was perfect.

i feel that bj novak has always seemed to have a really unserious vibration and this experience sort of felt like watching him desperately try to claw at seriousness (and repeatedly failing and falling flat on his face like a bad court jester) for an hour and a half. i was sort of entertained at times but i think the pacing is strange, the ending is stupid, and he shouldn’t have given himself the lead role. it’s not really very funny and it’s not really very witty and he somehow manages to both beat the message over your head and completely obfuscate it. truly the kind of movie you only watch because you randomly remember your mom pays for peacock
