I think I’m conflicted on the film and I’m not sure if it does its message on the death penalty well. But Susan Sarandon is great and it’s an thought provoking watch.

I think my rating might be a little inflated due to the physical impact this had on me, sorry it’s a bit late at night/ early in the morning so I probably sound stupid but I was always so squeamish about the death penalty to the point I thought I was going to be killed for taking a mini egg from a Tesco pick n mix and that’s never really left me 

Any movie that gets that kind of heart racing reaction from me usually gets. Higher rating but I just found this really interesting idk no matter who it is the idea of wasting all this time and money on killing criminals seems wasteful?

But then on the other hand the lower pain of knowing the criminal is in prison forever that lasts a lifetime is probably equal to the grief ridden gut stirring but brief pain an execution has on everyone

Then there’s also people that are so disgustingly evil that they just have to go…. Like Sean penn in this movie the big flaw in this is how much they try to humanise him from the whole he was brainwashed by a cool guy he liked angle and that was Eugh

i think this movie shows you the reality of death penalty from both sides. however, they could never make me believe death penalty is a fair sentence. death penalty is cruel, inhuman and degrading. a total violation of human rights.
