This film is simply delightful from start to finish! It’s an amazing character study of Tony Stark and his mental health and a phenomenal follow up to The Avengers.
I’d be at fault if I failed to mention the chemistry between Tony and Harley in this movie as it’s the highlight for me. Their not quite father-son relationship is absolutely hilarious to watch.
To top it all off it’s a Christmas film! And a great one at that.
The only major issue I have with this film is what they do with Pepper and some of the terrible dialogue she is given.
Truthfully I believe this film only gets as much hate as it does because of the choices made in regards to the Mandarin and because it was just ahead of its time, especially in regards to the mental health elements.

The ending is dope, loved the battle with all the suits coming into the fray. That’s about all I really enjoyed about this one, the majority of it is just not it. Such a forgettable film. I hated how they made the mandarin an actor. That was so fucking stupid. I also hated the main antagonist with his whole I’m actually a nice guy but a bad guy act. That shit is repulsive and annoying. Fuck anyone who writes antagonists like that. Tony stark is Tony stark but with random panic attacks that they never explain and never confront. They just happen for literally no reason and do nothing to the story. Compared to all other marvel counterparts from this era of marvel, this is one of the worst films. Making Pepper turn into one of the fire dudes was dumb. The fire dudes as a concept was kind of dumb too. The main bad guy breathed fire then never used it again, why? The plot holes are vast and frequent, it’s just not a great film. I’m always disappointed when I rewatch it, I don’t want to watch again but might.

In terms of quality, evenly between the first and the second. This movie was much more story driven than action, as Tony spent a large amount of time without his suit, but I enjoyed that. We see his struggles in dealing with what happened in New York, and there are some good characters is this. Harley is funny. Good wrap up to the trilogy. 8.3
