For quite some time, this was my second favorite Danny Boyle film. I mean, a mind fuck film by my favorite director at the time? Fuck yeah! The last time I watched this film was probably at least three years ago. I felt like the love I had for this film was no longer there, so I ended up selling my Blu Ray copy.
Unfortunately, those feelings are still well gone. I love its stylish editing and cinematography, but that’s pretty much it. Pretty disappointing since the last film he made before this was 127 Hours.
I feel like Danny Boyle’s last great film was T2: Trainspotting 6 years ago. I hope that he’ll get back on his good directing streak someday.
At least I still have access to that Danny Boyle retrospective featurette on my digital copy of this film. Any time I see 127 Hours featured on something is good enough for me.
