80 minutes later… wow. Not exactly worth the wait.
Cool idea on paper: a meta sequel about filming a remake of the original, with some returning cast and Terry Kiser as the killer’s actor. But somewhere along the way they forgot they were making a slasher and decided to shoot a string of comedy skits instead. The worst offender? A zombie couple having random conversations while people dressed as famous slashers walk by. Sorta funny once, annoying the second time, full-on eye-rolling by the third.
When the kills do show up, they’re great! Practical, nasty, but way too late. And then that ending… What. The. Actual. Fuck?!!!! Did the budget just run out all of a sudden? Just when things are vibing with the kills, they give us that. Dude… not cool
The original isn’t a masterpiece, but at least it knew what it was (hey great 80s sitcom music!). This one? Probably should have stayed on the shelve a little longer.
