This shows you perfectly how bad some of the police work was. Some of these cops truly were dumb amateurs and did some fucking stupid things that undoubtedly effected the investigation, maybe even the lives of the eventual victims, negatively.

"This Is the Zodiac Speaking" focuses on the murders that are definitely attributed to the Zodiac Killer. For almost 100 minutes, the viewer receives first hand reports from the first patrolmen and police officers at the crime scenes and also from the two survivors, Bryan C. Hartnell and Mike Mageau. The process of the murders and what happened immediately afterwards are described and Bryan C. Hartnell is even at the crime scene and describes what happened there. This is supplemented by crime scene photos as well as video material and interviews from the time of the investigation.
The editing is not really good, but the documentary is quite interesting, especially because those who were first at the crime scene or who actually survived the Zodiac report.
In addition, clear mistakes or wrong decisions by the cops become clear again, which can sometimes be a little frustrating in terms of how different the investigation could have been.
