Pink Flamingos was definitely a film. This movie is gross and honestly feels wrong to watch at times, but throughout that grossness is really just a really really dark comedy. There are times in this film where you’ll see or hear the most crazy thing but it works. I would be lying if i said i didn’t have fun with this film, but also i had to skip through 2 parts which were the chicken scene and the dog scene. I learned a lot of fact’s about this film that honestly makes it more fun to watch. Like how the production designer was running out of budget to get stuff for the film so he just resorted to stealing. I also love John waters quote “I was high when I wrote this film. I was not high when i made it.” Its just shocking to me how he still followed through on this idea that he had. I would have never checked this film out if it wasn’t on my criterion challenge but i’m glad i got it over with.
