why did netflix recommend me this based on my interest in to all the boys i've loved before

Jack Nicholson’s eyebrows you will always be famous.

This movie meant so much to me when I was like 14, and while it still does, it is no longer the untouchable masterpiece I once believed it to be. It’s a film of highs and lows for me now. Certain unbelievable and breathtakingly good scenes, probably one of my top 5 on-screen performances of all time, and a myriad of mysticism and intrigue about its true meaning still ring high as ever. But the exposition and deliberate pace of the first act is always a trough to get through.

Still one of the all time greats and what a treat to see this in IMAX. This is my favorite time of the year for movies, I’m about to get real insufferable rewatching my GOATS.

A Truly scary film - Jack Nicholson is absolutely terrifying. Plus, the music is just fantastic, obviously it's iconic, but for good reason as it is nothing short of amazingly spooky. The casting is honestly perfect, admittedly, I found Wendy to be even creepier than Jack.

I need to do a more in-depth breakdown and study of it because I know there are many many things I missed. I'll update my review below once I have done that.

Wow. The number of amazing theories is awesome:
- Connections to Nazis and Hitler
- Strange and specific design choices for the setting of Overlook Hotel
- MIRRORS MIRRORS MIRRORS
- There are many references to Native Americans, and theories alongside them
- OH AND THE THEORY ABOUT JACK COMMITTING SEXUAL VIOLENCE TOWARDS DANNY IS SUCH A GREAT THEORY. EVERYONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RESEARCH IT!!! The Bear imagery connecting to the oral sex scene and Danny, and Tony the imaginary friend. Urgh I love the number of theories around this film. ROOM 237 WAS NEVER REAL - it's the physical manifestation of Jack sexually abusing Danny!

The Shining is actually much, much darker than it first seems.

Everyone watch this film, and then most importantly, dedicate 4 hours of your day researching cool hidden details and theories about it. This alone increased my rating of this film by a whole point (which I think is a lot, especially at this high of a rating)
