I accidentally watched the wrong version of crime and punishment but ended up being pleasantly surprised. I’ve read the book but I have not watched any other movie adaptation of crime and punishment but I believe this is probably the most accurate depiction of it, especially when it’s 3 and a half hours long. It follows the book practically to a tea, however there are parts of the book that are missing which I find would probably be quite crucial such as Raskolnikov’s dreams as well as the epilogue, which is the most important part of the book. I think they did really good, particularly due to the fact that my guy Raskolnikov BARELY talked in the book with the dialogue happening in his head, but I thought that they were able to achieve something quite great with that in mind. Overall, a solid adaptation of crime and punishment, I quite enjoyed it but if someone who hadn’t read the book watched this, they would probably get a bit confused at times. P.S. the actor for Raskolnikov is lowkey hot ngl.
