Bloody Hell is a fun horror comedy that sadly stalls in the second act but remains an enjoyable watch. The film has a strong opening and an overall strong finish. But the middle is extremely repetitive and almost nothing happens to progress the overarching story. It makes the film difficult to rate because like the film Glorious, the enjoyment comes down to how much you like the protagonist. Personally, I think the main character is good and the actor does a great job carrying the movie, as for a lot of the film he’s talking to himself. The story is unique, but because of the poor pace of the second act, overall becomes stale. The story is still solid, but it has a lot more potential. The film’s mystery is solid and compelling. The film also has a fun style which makes the film even more visually entertaining. The comedy is never laugh out loud, but it’s almost always amusing. The whole love story and love interest are mediocre and serviceable. I wish she felt like she had more urgency and importance instead of just being a damsel in distress. However, she has enough of her own character, important moments, and character development to not be bad. In the end, Bloody Hell is a fun watch with some pacing issues holding it back.
