Isabella Rossellini is HILARIOUS I loved this so much ! She did such a good job at becoming each character Hitchcock and Chaplin were my favs and I was GAGGED at her transformation into her mother, Ingrid Bergman. They already look so much alike but the blonde wig was the perfect touch. I actually really appreciated this. I just started watching Roberto Rossellini’s’ work and this gave me some insight and I kinda feel bad for my initial reaction to his films (Stromboli and Journey to Italy) but the more I watch (Rome, Open City), the more I admire his style. Oh to be a nepo baby to parents with such great legacies. Also I wasn’t expecting Anna Magnani to be brought up but I guess it was a big scandal at the time. I loved this so much! Celebrity gossip is my history and Im so into learning about it all, it makes them seem more human

As a fan of Roberto Rossellini/Ingrid Bergman, this was terribly interesting. Felt like Isabella needed this for closure, but also incredible to get this first hand look of what it felt like to be the child of an auteur who’s movies never were commercially successful.
