was i watching a slasher… or a nature documentary??
so this was basically a carbon copy of friday the 13th (1980.) a group of teenagers go to a camp while a deformed person goes after them. the problem is that it removes all the good elements of the movie, and just leaves us with dirt. the backstory was relatively similar they changed a couple details but i feel like that scene alone sucked a lot of the runtime. the characters are one dimensional and caricatures, there’s pretty much no suspense except from the last 10 minutes, the plot is nonexistent, the story is generally unoriginal and the music is jarring/overbearing. also i felt like shots of landscapes and insects took up at least half of the screen time!! one thing i did like was the gore and also how the camera kind of goes within the maniacs perspective, as the victim steps back in fear
