Back to The Living Daylights. Finally, an entrance of a Bond i have never seen before where i was mesmerized by how well the movie executed. Timothy Dalton introduces a cold 007, exuding a deep, grounded performance whilst charm beams out of his presence. Maryam D’Abo as the Bond girl also completes the Bond's romantic affair, more intimate and touching. So many things were regurgitated for 2 hours, but not a moment felt filibustered, strictly tight and straightforward, yet supple with tantalizing action that gradually grips. Well-defined and spectacularly balanced between twisty espionage, romance, gadgetry and visceral tension with mercenary villains. Boldly putting it as the best Bond entry that ever made.

I prefer the second movie over this one, but I got to say that the other one is more violent and really brutal. Anyways, I think dalton's james bond is underrated and underappreciated.

What makes Dalton work for me is that he is a good mix between the classic and modern bond. He gives that serious grit while delivering some good and funny one liners. The living daylights proves that he is My second favorite bond.
The living daylights is a great mix of a modern and classic bond movie. I love the more grounded tone. The intresting and engaging story with some grounded villians. The motivation is greed and power which enough to keep these villians good.
The bond girl Kara is pretty underrated. She isn't the best or most complex but I love her personality. She is pretty and makes a good team with bond especially in the finale airplane sequence. Her ending is quite sweet too.
The villians here feel just real. There are 2 main villians a Russian defector and a arms dealer with a fascination with the military. Koskov the defector is funny and entertaining. Him playing all sides to survive is entertaining to see. The arms dealer is the same. I also like their plan and the fake out of spectre. It keeps some mystery while showing good old greed. They aren't the best villians in bond history but good for Daltons first outing.
The action is cool and fun. The airport scene is great and entertaining. Escaping the military with Kara was creative too and a good use of the gadgets. Is it the best bond action but it's still very entertaining. I also like their allies in the final action sequence and its funny how they are pulled into the fight.
James is one of the best here. He uses spycraft in a interesting way. I like a good view of spycraft and its great here. A bonus point for his allies like Pushkin and Felix who show their personalities in their short scenes.
The theme song and opening is cool too. It looks good and the song is nice to listen to. The movie is charming with some funny one liners and a good henchman too.
