Bond’s interactions with Sanchez are easily my all time favourite

Since “License To Kill” is Dalton's last appearance as Bond, I can state that I believe he is terribly miscast. I never had the impression that he truly found the same rhythm that the other actors did in any of his films. The movie also felt far more sombre than the majority of the other entries, particularly in the beginning, which definitely doesn’t fit well with the franchise.
The Die Hard vibe was not it 🥴

James Bond takes revenge and goes rogue, self-operating outside MI6. This time, 007’s cold and suave demeanor magnetizes two women, Pam Bouvier and Lupe, forming a triangular dynamic. All while facing a grounded, violently realistic antagonist, Franz Sanchez to avenge his friend's death.

Licence to Kill amps up the spectacle from the previous movie, meaning more explosions, more grotesque imagery, and obscene amounts of drugs, leaning in a darker direction than previous entries. The underwater sequence also reminds me of Thunderball’s extensive action. Raw, personal, and dark, Licence to Kill is a fantastic culmination for a Bond movie. Still, i wish there were more of Dalton than just a distillation of admiration.
