I need a couple of days to process what I just watched, but this was genuinely wild. I only found out afterwards that this was a whole thing but Nic Cage's performance was so Patrick Bateman coded; no wonder Christian Bale took inspiration from him. To be honest, though, there were a couple of moments in the film where I felt he was almost overacting, and it kind of ruined the atmosphere of the scenes. I also just really hated Peter as a character, especially his treatment of Alva. Poor girl tried her best every time.
