Out of all the period films i think this one was among the more difficult to understand ☹️ The plot is not very clear and I think historical knowledge becomes very useful when watching this movie. Despite this I believe that the acting and the set design are still key elements and are of a very high standard😁😁 Gérard Depardieu as usual didn’t disappoint with his abilities and the overall tone of the film shows how sick and insane the treatment of king and the monarchy was in those times. I do not consider this a bad film however, if a few elements had been more refined, it would certainly have deserved a much higher rating🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
