I loved the color palette in this one. The blue-green combination conveyed the fluidity of water perfectly. My first association was Frutiger Aero, but mixed with traditional Japanese aesthetics. And that yellow splash at the end? Pure visual poetry.
Woman of Water might not be the most dynamic film, but it’s definitely one of the most beautiful, and it keeps proving it shot after shot, frame after frame. The story leans heavily into character study and is more on a slow-paced side, yet the film remains engaging and fresh.
My new must-watch for the spring/summer season.
