The movie had promise early on, mostly because I like Mamoudou but it didn't really build in a way I would have wanted it to. The mystery element was done well enough but it didn't have me gripped by any means, and there was next to no horror elements present which was disappointing. The only scare factor they had with the creature and even then I feel like it didn't really land for me because of the sound design of it movements, it felt too heavily exaggerated.
Outside of the main character Nolan, and Dr Brooks the acting was a little bare bones. As the movie continued to unfold it became overly dramatic and went from an interesting mystery to an overcooked black mirror episode.
Black box isn't memorable, doesn't bring anything new to the table, and doesn't execute in any facet particularly well. It's an easy skip.
