Como película no está mal, pero no como parte de la saga de Hostel. Han tomado dos elementos de las anteriores y han pretendido que con eso es suficiente para que sea una continuación, pero es que ni siquiera se nombra algún acontecimiento de la primera, cuando la segunda acaba con una gran “Final Girl”… material desaprovechado supongo.

hostel 3 is literally poop from a butt. the concept is fun — elites in vegas + high-stakes gambling ring but for the execution it’s ehh. this could’ve been its own standalone movie but because it has hostel slapped onto the title, i am a bit more harsh on the rating :’)

i think hostel is pretty fun — the way eli roth got this idea because he discovered murder vacations which was based in thailand ToT (allegedly because we don’t know if the site is real). as we see now, elites paying & doing crazy shit is not far from the truth. maybe exaggerated a tad bit in hostel but it is true that there is crazy rings happening that we do not see.

the movies emphasize that humans will always want more. something that will get them on that high. for ex: paying for sex, in the first movie, we get that scene of the hallway filled with girls & men having sex. we then get the scene where paxton is being dragged down the hallway, we see the many torture rooms. it’s telling us the “commodification of human life”, torture & sex tourism are almost on the same plane of exploitation. in both instances it shows power dynamics when it comes to privilege, stripping someone down of their humanity (making someone feel like an object), & the role reversal.

the role reversal we saw was the group of boys paying to have sex with women & boast about using their bodies but then we see this mindset get used against them. the elites pay these high prices to also use their bodies by torturing them.

i love these movies, in regards to the saw movies that they get compared to.. saw will forever be on top im not sorry ToT.

The opening was pretty solid misdirection and then it’s literally all downhill from there. The writing was so bad it was actually a downgrade from Roth, and that’s saying something.
