this is another case where i respect the movie more than i personally enjoyed it. technically speaking, it does a lot of things very well. the cinematography is fantastic, and almost every other technical choice only made the story even stronger and more impactful. i also love the characterization of jaakko, and i enjoyed all his little quips. i didn't love the direction the movie chose to go in at around the halfway mark, though. i thought it muddied up the central theme a little, and i definitely could've done without it. however, i can't discredit the film entirely. it was definitely a beautiful watch overall!

What a showcase of human resilience! What a showcase of originality in direction and cinematography! I loved the use of the sound design here. And The lack of faces was brilliant.
