Oh one of those forgotten 2000s slashers. And probably for a good reason. It’s got an interesting concept, especially a potential b tier at most villain! But it’s held back since it’s still in that era where they were trying to take it easy on gore, Saw was still new and Hostel was just around the corner. It’s too bad because there are ideas of good kills but they’re either not seen or not as gory as they should be (that tree kill… yeah, that victim would be in two pieces or more, not just impaled). And the story isn’t as engaging to make up for the lack of gore.
Good needle drops though. Taking me back to freshmen year of college.
Also, yeah it’s got that 2000s style of editing, but did the camera really do a random barrel roll during a chase scene? Wtf?

6th one from the 15 horror movie pack and yea this was fun! Pretty cheesy horror flick but the story was alright, the kills were okay and the acting was fine too so that’s decent in my book. What really got me were some of the editing choices and some of the jokes like I actually laughed a few times in this one.
Probably gonna be the best one in this pack I’ll take it!

this wasn’t great.. yet somehow probably better than the marvel movie of the same name
for a dtv slasher, it seems to have a decent production value, it seems to have a bigger budget than a lot of other B-movie slashers for this era. it has that cliche and nostalgic supernatural ‘immortal’ horror villain who exterminates a bunch of teens, which is a massive reminiscence of 80s slashers. the killer is tied with voodoo, which was a nice feature of this film, and it kinda reminds me of hatchet (2006). the louisiana bayou swamp is such a great place for a slasher to take place : isolated, grimy and a very dull colour pallet. the kills are great and they were just satisfying to say the least. this follows the slasher template : nothing really new or exciting about this as it’s quite predictable as you already know how it’ll end. the story was sort of non existent, it’s a little forgettable and some cgi hasn’t aged well at all. it’s just an average horror movie, i don’t really have any opinions surrounding this..

Fun little quick slasher with dumb characters. The two main characters are literally completely at fault for this tho.
