really great film. the animation is on another level, every frame looks insane. the characters all stand out and the soundtrack hits, especially the ending. the simple story works perfectly without overcomplicating things

I found myself wondering if this beautiful piece of art inspired Speed Racer (2008) and then realized that this film actually came out a year after that. I then quickly remembered that Speed Racer is actually a cartoon from the late 60s and that it was actually a deep inspiration for this film. I can’t believe I just watched this for the first time
