Certainly an interesting film to come out of Hollywood in the middle of World War II, focusing on a group of female nurses and volunteers during the Battle of Bataan. The main highlight is the nearly all female cast, led by the marvelous Margaret Sullavan, who all play off each other very well and keeps you invested in these characters, though the film is very much still written and directed by men. It doesn't entirely work but it is certainly watchable, with the cast and rather honest and dark story making it stand out in this era.
