It’s fun but not great, I was a bit surprised on how slow it got at some points. I don’t know why they make the actor of the punisher play depressing ass roles like this one and him in the mist but he does a solid job at it. Thomas Jane, underrated actor. Also John travolta is in this for some reason as the bad guy, weird. The fight between the punisher and the Russian was by far the best part, I liked how he home aloned his apartment. It’s a little above average action flick, I don’t really need to rewatch it but might.

I remembered this being A LOT better than it actually is. Aside from some of the action scenes, and a couple heartwarming moments everything else falls pretty flat.

The Punisher is just kind of boring and unnecessarily bloated with side plots that don't do much to build the characters or plot line of Frank's revenge. A majority of the film feels like nothing special and like a subpar version of most action films that come out nowadays.

The most colossal negative throughout my Marvel journey so far is John Travolta. Who casted this man as the villain in one of the darkest and most serious antiheroes comic books have to offer? He's goofy and just kind of pathetic as Howard Saint. Maybe that's the point to contrast Frank Castle, but my God is it painful to watch his performance.

Speaking of Frank, Thomas Jane is okay in this role. He's obviously very broody and badass, but that's kind of all he is after the quarter mark. He gets he job done I suppose. It's cool if not a little weird to see some X-Men cast members in this. Rebecca Romijn, Ben Foster, and John Pinette have some funny and sometimes heartwarming moments with Frank in the middle portion of the film even that section can also slow down the pacing. They also take a lot of screentime away that could have been used to build up Frank's inner turmoil.

Most of the action is passable, but the fight with Kevin Nash is by far the best part of the film. It's fun, kind of hilarious, and feels like it was written and choreographed b someone different. They should have been in charge of the rest of the film.

While I did like that scene I just mentioned and the other comedic ones with Frank's friends, they are perfect examples of how inconsistent the tone is in this movie. It can't decide if it wants to be a slapstick comedy or a serious gritty action film. And there are several other examples of that especially surrounding Travolta's character.

It's not the worst thing I've ever, but it's not really worth watching either.
