I remember really liking Host when it first came out, and on rewatch it's still good but definitely not outstanding. The best comparison I can make is with Unfriended; both films are very good at making you feel like you're watching an ordinary friend group. One difference, though, is that the scares are much better in Host (but not by much). The acting is pretty good, with some goofy moments here and there, and overall I had a good time.
