This film captures the feeling and aesthetic of the original Resident Evil games than the actual RE films.While it is pretty slow at times and drags a bit after many extreme action scenes, it still maintains the interest with the invetive and beatiful shots, haunting soundtrack and charming characters. The special effects are just top tier and that final battle...holy fuck I've never seen anything quite like that anywhere.A true masterpiece of its kind.

Kiyoshi does Hausu? It took me 40 mins to get into this (I checked). I haaaaaated the music. Jesus, it is distractingly aggressive and melodramatic. It ruins everything. It makes the entire first chunk feel like an annoying made-for-tv movie. Only at the very end is there one instance of non-dramatic, and actually appropriate, music. You can't deny the creature/gore effects, though. They're nothing to sleep on. The climax is a Final Fantasy battle. When it hits, it hits, but wow is there a lot of annoyance to bear along with it.
