pls someone stop Chase and co making these movies where they critique transphobia and violence by reproducing the same exact narrative with their storytelling choices. this felt so focused on the harm and pain of Billy’s life told through the lens of cis people

No Ordinary Man tells the story of jazz legend Billy Tipton. Billy Tipton was a trans man in a time when there was basically zero support and he hid that fact from everyone, even his family. This film tells the story about through several trans men and trans women, as well as Billy's son Billy Jr.
The stock footage from interviews and talk shows is infuriating, especially the clips of Billy's wife Kitty arguing with a talk show host about Billy's gender. There is a moment in the film with Billy Jr. talking about how his father died and it is absolutely heartbreaking.
